10ml Patchouli Essential Oil
From Naissance
Product Description
Patchouli Essential Oil
Latin Name. Pogostemon cablin
Description
Patchouli oil has a sensual and uplifting nature; it's great for dry, damaged (and mature) skin, and for hair / scalp care. It is also good when you are feeling tired or stressed. Its aroma is also a great aphrodisiac particularly if either you or your partner are feeling disinterested in sex.
This bushy herb grows to a height of just under 1 metre and favours warmer, tropical areas preferably out of the sun.
History
Whilst the scent of Patchouli on cloth and other fabrics brought over from Asia in the 19th century was generally an indication of its authenticity, it has also been used for medicinal purposes in the Far East for any hundreds of years.
Source
Patchouli, often spelt 'Patchouly' or 'Pachouli', is part of the mint family, native to China but also cultivated around Asia, the Pacific Rim and West Africa. It is extracted by steam distillation of the dried leaves.
